ABSTRACT

Objective: To build a quality evaluation system for emergency pre-test and triage under a normal COVID-19 epidemic, based on the Servqual model, and to improve the effect of emergency epidemic prevention and control and the quality of emergency pre-testing and triage under the normalization of COVID-19 epidemics. Methods: Based on the Servqual model, a quality evaluation system of emergency pre-examination and triage under the normalization of COVID-19 epidemic was developed. Two rounds of expert consultation were conducted by the Delphi method, involving 15 experts. Results: The recovery rates for the two rounds of expert consultation were 100%, the expert authority coefficient was 0.954, and the Kendall coordination coefficients were 0.273 and 0.182 . The coefficients of variation of the three-level indicators of the two rounds of expert consultation were 0.003-0.275 and 0.052-0.125, respectively. An evaluation system including 5 first-level indicators, 14 second-level indicators and 42 third-level indicators of 5 dimensions (feasibility, reliability, responsiveness, security, empathy) of the Servqual model was established. Conclusion: Based on the Servqual model, a quality evaluation system for emergency pre-examination and triage under the normalization of the COVID-19 epidemic situation was completed. It reflects the medical services, triage and epidemic prevention and control required to provide the requisite quality of emergency pre-examination and triage under the normalization of the COVID-19 epidemic situation. It provides a reference for the quality supervision of emergency pre-examination and triage under the normalization of the COVID-19 epidemic situation.

ABSTRACT

Health-care providers or health-care workers (HCWs) are at higher risk of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection when compared to the general population. An early routine screening of both symptomatic and asymptomatic HCWs is essential to prevent transmission of infection and thus the nosocomial spread. The cumulative prevalence of SARS-CoV-2 infection among Indian HCWs is unknown. This systematic review was aimed to analyse the prevalence of SARS-Co-V2 disease (COVID-19) among Indian HCWs. Data were collected from a comprehensive computerised search in PubMed, Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, ResearchGate, Scopus and Web of Science using the terms 'Prevalence of COVID-19 among HCWs in India' and 'prevalence of SARS-CoV-2 among HCWs in India'. Results of original research papers and meta-analysis published were collected and data analysed. Results of seven studies on 31656 HCWs in India were pooled. Overall, average prevalence of COVID-19 among the HCWs was 12.3%. Majorities were frontline workers irrespective of the gender. Most of the cases were symptomatic, with cough and fever as major clinical presentations. Findings suggest that adequate organisation of clinical wards and personnel, appropriate personal protective equipment supply and training of all workers directly and repeatedly exposed to COVID-19 patients should be prioritised to decrease the risk of infection. Furthermore, the duty time of HCWs who works in COVID treating area should be minimised.

ABSTRACT

During the SARS-CoV­2 pandemic, various data had to be collected to support political decisions for pandemic preparedness and response. Nevertheless, using analogue tools like paper and pencil as well as sending files with media discontinuity that have to be merged later are not useful and can hardly provide usable data in real time. With the selected system architecture, the Bavarian Online Database for Corona Screening Tests (BayCoRei) is a central, Bavaria-wide, consistent digital solution that is agile and easy to use. BayCoRei uses established technical components and interfaces. Apart from this, the support of the individual stakeholders (e.g., health authorities, service providers, and district governments) plays a decisive role in the success of the solution. The present article describes BayCoRei and two other online databases as examples that comprise the technology and architecture that have proven to be (rapidly) deployable and points out the gap between intention and reality regarding pandemic management.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: A common secondary effect after SARS-CoV-2 immunization is an increased in size of the axillary lymph nodes ipsilateral to the vaccinated site. Eventually, an increased in size of the axillary lymph nodes may lead to a misinterpretation of the breast screening mammogram, performed in asymptomatic women between the age 50 to 69 years old for early breast cancer diagnosis. The aim of our research was to evaluate the impact of the vaccination for SARS-CoV-2 in the breast screening programmes in terms of recall rates and number of false positive results. As a secondary purpose we would analysed the protocols adopted by different breast screening units around the world after SARS-CoV-2 vaccination. METHODS: Observational and retrospective study analysing breast screening mammograms from a single Breast Cancer Screening Unit in Madrid. The mammograms of previously vaccinated women were analysed, reviewing the axillary lymph nodes and the re-call rate secondary to axillary lymphadenopathies. RESULTS: Four hundred and twenty three screening mammograms were performed in May 2021 in the University Hospital Ramon y Cajal in Madrid, which is part of the Breast Screening Programme in Madrid, Spain. None of the women previously vaccinated for SARS-CoV-2 were recalled for complementary studies due to an increased in the axillary lymph nodes. CONCLUSIONS: The protocol stablished by the Spanish Society of Breast Image that stands up for a routine breast screening mammogram after SARS-CoV-2 immunization, has no increase in the recall rate or increase in number of false positives.

ABSTRACT

Objective: Since the resumption of face-to-face education in October 2020, which was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic, coincides with the period when SARS-CoV-2 infection rates in young adults are on the rise. This study focuses on the 2019 corona virus outbreak in young adults, the largest link in the chain of transmission, which can be defined as silent contagious agents. It is aimed to provide epidemiological data by detecting virus disease (COVID-19) seropositivity with two different serological methods, and to evaluate the symptom-test performance relationship of asymptomatic/mild symptom/symptomatic cases. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted with students studying at Cappadocia University health programs between December 2020 and February 2021 and who will attend practice courses face-to-face. Participants were surveyed about their COVID-19 symptoms and disease histories based on SARS-CoV-2 exposure. For SARS-CoV-2 antibody detection, blood samples were taken from the participants and investigated with a single lateral flow immunoAssay (LFIA, Novatech, Turkey) cassette test. The samples with positive test result were then SARS-CoV-2 Anti-N IgM+IgG;SARS-CoV-2 Anti-S IgM+IgG;SARS-CoV-2 Anti-RBD IgG;It was re-evaluated using the electrochemiluminescence immunoassay (ECLIA) method with the anti-SARS-CoV-2 kit (Roche, Germany). Results: Of the 239 samples participating in the study, 50 (20.9%) samples that were positive for SARS-CoV2 IgM/ IgG according to the LFIA method were then studied again with the ECLIA method. According to the ECLIA result, 72% (36/50) of individuals against both nucleocapsid (N) and spike (S) antigens, and 70% (35) against RBD antigen were seropositive. Based on the ECLIA test results, 239 samples were studied and 50 samples were found to be IgM/IgG positive, with a sensitivity of 64% and a specificity of 93%. Contingence history was reported in 46% (n=23) of patients who were seropositive by both methods, while 30% (n=15) showed a COVID-19 clinic. Fifty four percent (n=27) of the participants reported that they did not have a PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test, but antibody response was observed in all of them. Only 28% (n=14) of seropositive patients reported positive PCR results, and 4% of them stated that they had a chronic disease. It will be important to continue to observe the serological status of young people, particularly in the context of new COVID-19 variants and in the low interest in mass vaccination campaigns targeting young people. Conclusion: It is thought that the performance of ECLIA with rapid casette test does not have a good degree of agreement and confirmation with different immunoassay tests would be more useful for epidemiological surveillance. Especially the new COVID-19 in the context of the variants and targeting youth due to the lack of interest in vaccination champaigns continue to monitor the serological status of young people it will be important.

The statistics category features 4 articles that investigate the impact of temperature on the spread of COVID-19 in Gulf countries, the development of novel hybrid models for predicting COVID-19 in Kuwait, forecasting using basic reproduction number dynamics to analyze the pandemic's data, and a comparison of the multi-state models to assess the effect of antiviral treatment on SARS-CoV-2 infectious disease progression. The final 2 articles in the biology category focus on the bioinformatic analysis of antiviral medicinal compounds against SARS-CoV-2 proteases and the filtration efficiency of face masks and veils as protective measures during the COVID-19 pandemic.

ABSTRACT

Introduction: universal neonatal hearing screening is a test that enables to identify or suspect hearing loss, performed via habilitation or rehabilitation plan. Background: determine the coverage of universal hearing screening in the epidemiological context of COVID-19 in Guantanamo province, during the period of march 2020 to march 2021. Method: a descriptive, retrospective cross-sectional study was carried out. A total of 5 999 newborns (as Universe) were involved in the study. Variables used were as follow: sex, newborns with or without risk factors, and otoacoustic emissions, which outcomes allowed for the evaluation of universal hearing screening coverage. The standard indicator (95%) and the time at which the first otoacoustic emissions were made were defined. The percentage of newborns detected before one month of life was established as indicator. Results: the 51.1% of the 5 999 newborns were male and 48.3% were female. The 100% of newborns (5 838) without risk factors underwent to the first examination, meanwhile, among those with risk factors (151 newborns) 0.2% (10) could not be tested. Screening of newborns without factors occurred between 1 and 3 days after birth. Screening was never performed after 30 days of birth in those who presented risk factors. Coverage was 99.8% and the reference rate was 0.2%. Conclusions: Universal Hearing Screening Program application in the context of COVID-19 pandemic in Guantanamo province shows a fulfillment in the coverage indicator.

ABSTRACT

In 2017, the French National Health Authority (HAS) reassessed its human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) screening strategy and in 2018, the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) set the goal of screening 95% of people living with HIV by 2030. The HAS recommends an approach based on target population and gives the general practitioner (GP) a key role in its implementation. It is therefore important to facilitate HIV testing by GPs and to reduce missed opportunities. To this end, a pilot study was conducted on a panel of 2,000 GPs over a 10-month period in 2020 in order to evaluate the impact of a pop-up displayed within prescription assistance software reminding about the frequency of targeted screening recommended by the HAS. The pop-up was displayed for patients with a history of sexually transmitted infection and/or hepatitis C and/or tuberculosis in the previous 12 months and without a known HIV serology or diagnosis. The impact was measured by comparing the prospective follow-up of consultations made during the "pilot" in 2020 with the retrospective follow-up of consultations made during the "pre-pilot" period in 2019. The results showed a significant increase in HIV serology prescriptions during the pilot study, despite the COVID-19 pandemic. Difficulties in objectively identifying target patient profiles and in organizing regular follow-ups to HIV testing were also revealed. This pop-up tool represents an additional means of facilitating the prescription of HIV testing by GPs.

ABSTRACT

We developed a pandemic telephone outreach protocol to identify risk for social isolation, health destabilization, medication issues, inadequate services and supports, and caregiver stress among older adults at high risk of destabilization. Screening, conducted between April 1, 2020, and May 8, 2020, was targeted to those who had previously been screened as frail or who were identified as vulnerable by their family physician. This study describes the implementation and results of this risk screening protocol and describes patient, caregiver, and health professional perceptions of this outreach initiative. Mixed methods included satisfaction surveys and interviews completed by patients/caregivers (N = 300 and N = 26, respectively) and health professionals (N = 18 and N = 9, respectively). A medical record audit collected information on patient characteristics and screening outcomes. A total of 335 patients were screened in the early weeks of the pandemic, of whom 23% were identified with at least one risk factor, most commonly related to the potential for health destabilization and medication risk. Follow-up referrals were made most frequently to physicians, a pharmacist, and a social worker. The outreach calls were very well received by patients and caregivers who described feeling cared for and valued at a time when they were socially isolated and lonely. The outreach calls provided access to trusted COVID-19 information and reassurance that health care was still available. The majority of health professionals (>86%) were "very" or "extremely" satisfied with the ease of completing the screening via telephone and value for time spent;for 79% the protocol was "very" or "extremely" feasible to implement. Health professional interviews revealed that patients were unaware they could access care during the pandemic lockdown but were reassured that care was available, potential crises were averted, and they supported future implementation. Risk screening provides a significant opportunity to provide information, support, and mitigate potential risks and is an important and feasible component of pandemic planning in primary care.

State of the matterDue to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the resulting bottlenecks in the French healthcare system, the management of patients with COVID-19 has been prioritized over that of patients with other pathologies, in particular chronic diseases. The objective of this study was to investigate the impact of COVID-19 on the discovery stage of cancers diagnosed in an organized breast cancer screening program, as well as the impact on the time to supported. Material and methodsAll women aged 50 to 74 for whom cancer has been diagnosed in Cote d'Or as part of the national organized breast cancer screening program (first or second reading) from January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2020 have were included in this study. Using data from pathological anatomy laboratories, clinical centers, and the breast and gynecological cancer registry in Cote d'Or, France, we collected sociodemographic, clinical, and treatment data from all patients. We compared data from the year 2019 (pre-COVID) with that of the year 2020 (COVID). ResultsIn this study, we did not observe any change in the stage of discovery of the cancer at the time of diagnosis, nor any change in the therapeutic strategy. However, we observed a significant increase in infiltrated tumors, a decrease in in situ tumors, and the finding of larger clinical size of in situ tumors after the COVID pandemic. ConclusionWhile these results are reassuring, continued monitoring is needed to determine post-pandemic effects.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To find out the existing problems and provide reference for further improving the quality of report information by analyzing the report cards of COVID-19 and the positive report cards of primary screening reported in Ningxia. Methods All COVID-19 case cards from 2020 to 2021 and initial screening positive cards were derived from the Chinese Information System for Disease Control and Prevention according to final review date. The timeliness of case reporting, timeliness of case review, completeness and accuracy of the case cards were analyzed. Results In Ningxia, the first case of COVID-19 was reported on January 20, 2020, and as of December 31, 2021, 122 confirmed cases and 4 symptomatic infected cases were reported. In 2021, the timely reporting rate of COVID-19 was 98.00%, which increased by 8.24% compared with 2020 (90.54%). Compared with 2020, the average time limit for diagnosis to reporting of COVID-19 in 2021 was shortened by 83.12%;in 2021, the timely review rate of COVID-19 was 100.00%, which increased by 13.84% compared with 2020 (87.84%). Compared with 2020, the time from reporting to final review was shortened by 98.91%. In 2021, the timely rate of positive reports in COVID-19 in Ningxia was 90.00%, among which the timely rate of reports by county (district) nucleic acid detection institutions was the highest (92.31%), followed by municipal (91.67%) and autonomous region (81.82%). Conclusions At the beginning of the epidemic in 2020, the timeliness of COVID-19 in Ningxia was poor, and through the implementation of measures such as technical training, supervision and inspection to continuously optimize the staffing of medical institutions and disease control institutions, the timeliness of reporting COVID-19 in Ningxia in 2021 was substantially improved, but there were still some weak links. In the future work, technical guidance and training should be carried out for weak links, and efforts should be made to improve the quality of reports.

ABSTRACT

Background: The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus called the novel coronavirus caused the pandemic coronavirus disease 19 (COVID-19). All over the world, SARS-CoV-2 pneumonia is causing significant short-term morbidity and mortality, but the medium-term impact on lung function and quality of life of affected patients is still unknown. Aims: To assess clinical, laboratory, and radiological parameters of COVID-19 Patients and to correlate radiological findings and disease severity among patients. Methodology: In this retrospective observational study a total of 630 patients with radiologically confirmed pneumonia and COVID-19 RT PCR positive were included from a tertiary care centre in Pune, Maharashtra, following their voluntary informed consent. Patients underwent clinical, laboratory, and radiological investigations. Results: It was observed that the majority 174 (27.6%) were in the age group of 31 to 40 years and male predominance was observed compared to female. The majority of the patients 314 (49.8%) had mild, 232 (36.8%) were moderate and 84 (13.3%) had severe illness as per CT scores (HRCT Chest score). Mean BSL levels were 181 +or- 81.44, mean pulse rate was 94.03 +or- 14.93 bpm, mean respiratory rate was 22.84 +or- 3.71cpm, systolic blood pressure was 129.09 +or- 13.18 mmHg, diastolic blood pressure was 82.80 +or- 9.67 mmHg and mean temperature was 98.56 +or- 1.67 degrees F. The mean ferritin levels were 181 +or- 81.44, the mean LDH level was 94.03 +or- 14.93, mean HbA1C was 7.45 +or- 1.68. The mean NLR was 5.51 +or- 2.41, the mean WBC count was 7238.38 +or- 4942.23 and the mean hematocrit was 39.69 +or- 4.80. The mean D dimer level was 402.29 +or- 424.70, median levels were 260 (170-450). 503 (79.8%) had CRP levels more than 5 and 127 (20.2%) had levels less than 5. The mean duration of hospital stay was 9.18 days +or- 4.34 days. Majority 570 (90.5%) had fever, 493 (78.3%) had cough, 286 (45.4%) had breathlessness, 66 (10.5%) had sore throat. Other symptoms include vomiting, and loose motion in 17 (2.7%). Among 630 subjects included in the present study, the majority 584 (92.7%) have recovered/were discharged from the hospital and 46 (7.3%) succumbed to the illness. The mean SGOT and SGPT levels were 44.86+or- 31.29 and 43.60 +or- 31.25 respectively. Mean serum creatinine and BUN levels were 0.87+or- 0.80 and 13.96 +or- 9.46 respectively. The mean values of pulse rate, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, respiratory rate and temperature showed an increasing trend across the grades of severity. Conclusion: We concluded that age, gender, blood sugar level, blood pressure, clinical symptoms, comorbidities, inflammatory biomarkers and CT severity score were independently associated with the severity and mortality based on our findings.

ABSTRACT

Phenylketonuria is an inherited metabolic disease that can be treated if detected early and can easily be screened with phenylalanine as a biomarker. Phenylketonuria is included in the National Neonatal Screening Program. We aimed to investigate the possible effects of the pandemic on phenylketonuria screening in our country during coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) era. We retrospectively evaluated patients who were referred to our center due to elevated blood phenylalanine levels detected by national screening program retrospective- and prospectively within one-year as of 11 March 2020, the date when first COVID-19 case was detected in our country. Multivariate analysis showed birth region and phenylalanine levels to be independently associated with the time period until the first admission to hospital, but none of the parameters were significantly associated with the pandemic. There was no evidence that the COVID-19 pandemic affected the screening of newborn phenylketonuria, however since the data was limited to our center and to draw generalized conclusions larger scaled multicentric studies are needed.

Background: To control the imported risks brought by all international arrivals, China Customs has implemented strict closed-loop health management policy called "three checks, three screenings and one transfer". This study provides epidemiological evidence for prevention and control measures on imported cases of asymptomatic infections and describes the current COVID-19 prevention and control system on imported risks in China. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed an imported incident of three asymptomatic carriers. Serum SARS-CoV-2 IgM and IgG antibodies were detected by chemiluminescence and gold immnnochromatography(GICA). Results: Three cases were reported positive for SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid on their arrival, total antibodies and IgG, but negative for IgM. The Ct values of cases A, B and C were 34/36/36, 32/33/32 and 25/31/29, respectively. There were 10726434 pair-end reads sequenced for case C, and approximate 80% reads were aligned to the hCoV-19/Wuhan/IVDC-HB-01/2019 genome (EPI_ISL_402119). The viruses of case A and C were homologous and came from the SARS-CoV-2 variant. Conclusion: Serum antibody IgM and IgG tests are recommended for international travelers from epidemic areas. The "three checks, three screenings and one transfer" policy implemented at custom's entry points was effective in COVID-19 prevention and control.

ABSTRACT

Purpose: Childhood obesity has become a social problem due to the social distancing necessitated by the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic. This study aimed to identify the dietary problems of obese children through various dietary assessment methods and to confirm the usefulness of each method. Methods: The subjects were 88 students in the 4th to 6th grade of elementary school who participated in the nutrition camp organised by the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, 2020. To evaluate dietary problems and assess diet quality, 24-hour meal records, monthly food intake frequency, and Dietary Screening Test (DST) data were analyzed. Results: Of the subjects, 15.7%, 30.3%, and 53.9% were normal weight, overweight, and obese, respectively. The average age was 11.77 +or- 0.77 years and the average body mass index was 23.96 +or- 3.01 kg/m2. It was observed from the 24-hour meal record method that the overweight and obese subject groups consumed fewer green vegetables (p < 0.001) and white vegetables (p < 0.01) than the normal weight group. In the monthly food intake frequency method, the consumption of ramen (p < 0.01), snacks (p < 0.05), and sausages (p < 0.05) were high in the obese group, and that of anchovies, broccoli, and sweet pumpkin was high in the normal group (p < 0.05). The comparative data from the DST revealed that the overweight and obese groups had less vegetable intake than the normal weight group (p < 0.01) and had higher intakes of dairy products, fast food, and sweet snacks (p < 0.05). Conclusion: The usefulness of each method in the dietary evaluation of obese children was confirmed. To address the problem of obesity, it is necessary to evaluate the dietary problem and approach it with a customized solution tailor-made for the individual subject.

Introduction: The global coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has made the provision of cancer care services a challenging task all over the world, even in developed countries. Multiple studies have already reported increased rate of diagnostic delays, interruptions in radiotherapy and chemotherapy administration, and shortage of health care personnel to deliver these services. Background: The aim of this study was to analyze the impact of strategies used to deliver uninterrupted childhood cancer services at our center during the COVID-19 pandemic. Materials and Methods: This is a cross-sectional study of the children less than 18 years of age admitted at our center between March 2020 and September 2021 to assess the effect of strategies adopted to provide uninterrupted cancer services during the COVID-19 pandemic. All the children with cancer who were managed during the study period were included in the study. The children who had treatment interruptions/lost to follow-up prior to onset of COVID-19 were excluded from the study. The primary outcome was to measure the effect of COVID-19 on delivery of cancer care services. The secondary outcome was to assess whether the strategies followed at our center helped to reduce diagnostic delays or loss to follow-up during the COVID-19 pandemic. Results: Out of total 1,490 admissions, 199 children were managed during the study period. Among the 199 children managed, 124 of them were newly diagnosed, 75 had ongoing treatment, 16 children relapsed, 13 children received palliative care, and 6 families were lost to follow-up. Out of 1,471 tests done, only 16 children and 6 caregivers tested COVID-19 positive during routine screening. Thirty-five underwent surgery and 23 received radiotherapy during this period. Among 199 children, 143 (71.8%) received financial support for hospital expenses, 23 (11.5%) received travel support, 20 (10%) were provided free accommodation, and 15 (7.5%) received home delivery of oral chemotherapy and pain medications. A total of $86,989.05 was supported for diagnostic investigations, COVID-19 testing, chemotherapy, and supportive care;$1,144.90 for travel support;and $17,010.94 was waived off by hospital administration to support the poor families. Conclusion: The shared care model, support from nongovernmental organizations and hospital administration, and utilization of local resources productively and effectively helped to avoid diagnostic delays and treatment interruptions, and provide uninterrupted pediatric cancer care services at our center.

ABSTRACT

Background: There has been a tremendous increase in number of cases of rhino-orbitocerebral involvement with mucor in the COVID era, as reported from India. It is well established that management of ROCM involves early clinical and radiological diagnosis, reversal of underlying risk factors, prompt antifungal therapy and surgical debridement when indicated. Materials &Methods: Multiplanar MR imaging and CT scan were performed for brain, orbit and paranasal sinuses. All the cases were assessed for involvement of the paranasal sinuses, nasal cavities, orbits and brain. Results: 25 cases with ROCM were identified over 8 months. The mean age of the cases was 56.1 years. 18 of the 25 cases had a positive RT-PCR test result at the time of diagnosis with ROCM. 20 cases had poorly controlled diabetes mellitus, 2 had a hematological malignancy, 2 had chronic kidney disease and 1 had ischemic heart disease. There was involvement of the paranasal sinuses, nasal cavities, orbits and brain inclusing necrosis in most of the cases. The number of cases identified during the interval is much higher than the numbers presenting in the prior 2 years during equivalent intervals than those reported in the literature in different settings in the pre-pandemic era. Conclusions: Rhino-orbito mucormycosis can have aggressive necrosis of the involved paranasal sinuses and orbits with or without cerebral extension. Hence, the correct diagnosis is imperative as prompt antifungal drugs and surgical debridement can significantly reduce mortality and morbidity.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To find out a optimal solution for existence and universality of positive samples in pooling sample assay for SARS-Cov-2 so as to provide a more effective and rapid detection method for nucleic acid screening of low-risk population. METHODS: A mathematical model was built based on the relationship among time requirement, size of kits under the situation of different numbers of positive samples and maximum size of test sample during the pooling sample assay so as to seek the optimal test method from coding and non-coding method. Three circumstances including positive samples, single positive sample and multiple positive samples were explored, and the demanded quantity of test reagents was observed under the different circumstances. RESULTS: The efficiency of box-marfa test method is higher when showing the existence of positive sample and single positive sample, and the efficiency of non-coding optimal block test method was higher when showing multiple positive samples. The demanded quantity of test reagents of the optimal block test method was superior to other methods. CONCLUSION: The research result can be directly used for test of infection among low-density population, the box-marfa test method is suitable for situation of sufficient detection resources and checking out positive samples. The optimal block test method is suitable for situation of less positive samples and limited test resources as well as the situation of mixed test technique to be improved by a large margin. Taking the mixed test of 60 696 samples as an example, it can be used in a region with the positive rate less than 8.34%. The content of the research is suitable for low-risk and medium-risk regions and some of high-risk regions, it has significant application value in low-risk regions with insufficient test resources in initial stage of epidemic, regional screening in medium stage of epidemic and reginal time-limit test, and this method is also suitable for other virus samples for which mixed test can be carried out.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a worldwide public health problem that has attracted much attention due to its clinical findin gs. Measurement of IgG and IgM antibodies is of great importance for researchers and it will help t o develop a new diagnostic and therapeutic method in clinical care. In this cross-sectional study, we aim to measure th e IgG and IgM antibody levels in 401 suspected COVID-19 volunteers. We also measure the time duration for the appearance of IgG and IgM antibodies from the onset of symptoms to sa mpling time. Of 401 participants enrolled in the study, 255 (63.59%) were healthy, 79 (19.70%) were a carrier, 59 (14.71%) were cured and 8 (1.99%) were borderline. Of 142 subjects diagnosed with COVID-19, 41 (28.87%) presented with gastrointestin al (GI) symptoms, 83 (58.45%) had no GI symptoms, and 18 (12.68%) were asymptomatic. According to our findings, the measurement of IgG a nd IgM antibodies will provide the tool for the diagnosis of COVID-19 and significantly boo st research into novel diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.

ABSTRACT

The identification process of learning challenges in children is diverse and multifaceted, but typically involves standardized assessment with a psychologist. And while cognitive ability assessment is an integral and informative part of the process, one major concern is that the integration of teacher and parent observations into Canadian psychoeducational evaluation process has, thus far, not been a key source of information guiding diagnosis and intervention. Another concern is that formalized assessments often have long wait times, which delays support to the child. Therefore, evidence-based measures are needed to integrate teacher and parent observations and streamline the assessment process. The purpose of this research program was to identify specific, observable behaviours that conceptually aligned with primary five-factors of the Wechsler Intelligence Test for Children (WISC-V), the standardized measure used for assessment, to develop home and classroom behavioural screening measures that can be used collectively. Development of the measures involved both qualitative and quantitative approaches. Focus groups, panel reviews, and item rating surveys with expert groups (e.g., school psychologists, teachers, parents) allowed items to be generated, appraised, and modified to develop the pilot measures. The final study collected WISC-V and screener data to assess conceptual alignment between measures, as well as included a qualitative examination of parent experiences supporting complex learners during the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on feedback data, the pilot Home and Classroom Cognitive Ability Screeners were developed;both include five composites reflecting the WISC-V factor structure. Preliminary evaluation demonstrates a relation between observed scores on the screeners and corresponding WISC-V scales, and qualitative data showed a significant number of unique challenges experienced by parents supporting children with learning differences. Given the daily demands of psychologists and teachers to support diverse and complex learning needs, it is imperative that research focuses on improving current practices and enabling increased collaboration. These new measures serve to inform psychologists about the child's cognitive functions as they are expressed day-to-day in the home and classroom. This helps to facilitate a more effective assessment process and creates the opportunity for a common language for diagnosis, support, and progress monitoring to promote the child's academic success and well-being.
